The Brewery & Taproom
Crafted from heavy timber, alpine water, and mountain spirit at the foot of Alyeska.
Our Story
Welcome to Girdwood Brewing Company. Opening our doors in March of 2017, our dream was simple: build a vibrant community hub where friends, skiers, bikers, surfers, and travelers could gather over exceptionally fresh, world-class local beer.
Being a compact, independent operation means we brew to exacting standards and experiment constantly. We maintain four to six core beers alongside a prolific rotating series of small-batch IPAs, fruited sours, crisp lagers, and rich stouts.
We also offer house root beer, local kombucha, cold-brew coffee, hard cider, and a curated selection of red, white, and sparkling wines for those seeking alternatives.

3,040 Sq Ft Timber Sanctuary & Beer Garden
Our 3,040-square-foot timber-framed brewery and taproom features cathedral ceilings, heavy Douglas fir beams, and panoramic views of the surrounding Chugach Mountains. Adorned with authentic vintage ski relics, mountain rescue gear, and original artwork from Alaskan creatives, the taproom feels immediately like home.
Step through the glass doors into our outdoor beer garden equipped with custom stone fire pits, heavy timber picnic tables, and bike racks. It's the perfect place to warm up after a powder day or soak in the midnight sun after biking the Winner Creek trail.
Glacial Mountain Water & Precision Stainless
Great beer begins with pristine water. Girdwood's municipal aquifer is fed directly by high-alpine snowmelt and glacial runoff from the Chugach Range, providing exceptionally soft, pure brewing liquor.
Pristine Chugach Water
Untreated, pure glacial melt creates the ideal foundation for delicate German-style lagers, bright hazy IPAs, and full-bodied stouts without harsh mineral interference.
World-Class Malts & Hops
We source premium European Pilsen, flaked oats, and wheat, alongside the finest Pacific Northwest and Southern Hemisphere hop varieties: Citra, Galaxy, Motueka, Nectaron, and Cryo hops.
Girdwood Culture
Rooted in ski bum heritage, trail rescue volunteerism, and outdoor camaraderie. Every pint poured supports local trails, avalanche safety, and nonprofit initiatives.
